NEW BENTLEY V8 S MODELS MAKE WORLD DEBUT AT IAA MOTOR SHOW

(Crewe/Frankfurt, 09 September 2013)

Bentley adds a characterful new member to the Continental family with the world premiere of the new GT V8 S at the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show. Available in both coupe and convertible forms, the V8 S models feature an uprated version of Bentley's twin-turbo, 4.0-litre engine that now develops 521 bhp (528 PS / 389 kW) and 680 Nm (502 lb.ft) of torque together with careful suspension modifications and a selection of new exterior and interior features. Complementing these two dynamic new models in Frankfurt is the pinnacle of Bentley luxury in the form of the flagship Mulsanne and the all-new four-door sedan Flying Spur.

Dr Wolfgang Schreiber, Chairman and Chief Executive of Bentley Motors, comments:

"Our new V8 S models are an exciting addition to the Continental family. The increased power and torque combined with dynamically-focussed suspension sharpen the performance capabilities of our V8 grand tourers with no compromise to the luxury and quality that all Bentleys typify. These are cars with huge character and agility, enhanced even further by a distinctive V8 soundtrack."

A distinctive and dynamic new Continental

Building on the success of the acclaimed Continental GT V8, the new V8 S models feature a more powerful version of Bentley's 4-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine developing 521 bhp (528 PS / 389 KW) at 6,000 rev/min and an immense peak torque of 680 Nm (502 lb.ft) at a mere 1,700 rev/min. An 8-speed ZF automatic transmission and Bentley all-wheel drive system with 40:60 rear-biased torque split ensures effortless delivery of the increased power, providing exhilarating yet smooth performance. The GT V8 S coupe sprints from 0-60 mph in just 4.3 seconds (0-100 km/h in 4.5s) and onto a top speed of 192 mph (309 km/h). The performance of the GT V8 S convertible is equally impressive, reaching 60 mph from a standing start in 4.5 seconds (0-100km/h in 4.7s) and a top speed of 191mph (308km/h). This increased performance is not at the cost of the efficient engine's fuel economy capabilities, with both coupe and convertible able to cover over 500 miles (805 km) on a single tank of fuel.

A suite of enhancements to the Continental chassis provide greater agility and body control to match the engine's higher output, whilst maintaining the car's renowned ride comfort and refinement. A more sporting setup sees ride height lowered by 10 mm front and rear while spring rates, bushes and the rear anti-roll bar are stiffened. Recalibrated damping, steering and ESC complete the package for an exhilarating and involving driving experience.

Sharp and stylish design touches are introduced to match the new models' enhanced sporting pace. A package of lower-body styling features accents the purposeful stance offered by the lowered suspension through an aerodynamic front splitter, discrete side sills and elegant rear diffuser, all finished in Beluga gloss black. New signature 20-inch wheels are exclusive to the V8 S models, and feature an open-spoke design that provides a clear view of red-painted brake calipers. "V8 S" fender badges complete the understated but sporting appearance. The visual appeal of the new car is matched by a stunning V8 exhaust note that can be amplified further with an optional new sports exhaust.

Inside, the cabin of the V8 S models presents a thoroughly modern interpretation of Bentley luxury. Available with a range of striking duo-tone interiors, customers select interior trim from the full range of seventeen hide colours. The GT V8 S coupe also features a unique contrast centre stripe for the hide-trimmed roof lining, matched to the colour of the main hide. Knurled chrome detailing to the gearshift lever and ventilation controls provides a perfect contrast to Piano Black veneers, while discreet "V8 S" badges are displayed on each sill tread plate.

The new GT V8 S coupe and convertible arrive in Bentley dealerships from early 2014.

Bentley's all-new luxury performance sedan

With its unrivalled blend of effortless driveability, exquisite luxury and craftsmanship, sculpted design and state-of-the-art technology, the new Flying Spur continues its successful market introduction following its global debut in March this year.

Behind the athletic exterior design and immaculate interior application of luxurious leather and wood lie a host of advanced acoustic and electronic technologies. A bespoke hand-held Touch Screen Remote allows rear-cabin occupants to control an extensive range of features from the comfort of their seat. With an optional Rear Seat Entertainment suite including two 10" LCD screens, DVD players, wireless headphones and an on-board hard-drive jukebox, plus the options of full Wi-Fi connectivity and an 1100W Naim for Bentley premium sound system, the new Flying Spur is the perfect place for work or relaxation on the move.

Powered by Bentley's renowned 6.0-litre, twin turbo W12 engine, the new Flying Spur features more power than any other Bentley four-door in history with 625 PS (616 bhp) and 800 Nm of torque. A 14 per cent improvement in the power-to-weight ratio over the previous generation Flying Spur ensures a remarkable 0-60 mph time of 4.3 seconds and a top-speed of 200 mph (322 km/h).

A pinnacle specification for the Bentley flagship

Completing the prestigious line-up in Frankfurt is the Bentley Mulsanne, presented with the very latest specifications. A range of new luxury features has been added to the Bentley flagship for 2013, offering a new suite of entertainment and communication system options. The Comfort Specification, including cossetting headrests, comfortable footrests and soft duck down filled loose cushions has been introduced to reaffirm the Mulsanne's reputation as a truly bespoke grand tourer.

Meanwhile, the Entertainment Specification incorporates the latest in-car technologies to transform the rear cabin in to a luxurious office or cinema, complete with picnic tables designed for an iPad and wireless keyboard, and an on-board Wi-Fi router. The Entertainment Specification is further enhanced with twin, eight inch LCD headrest screens, incorporating a 20 GB hard drive and DVD player, played through a "Naim for Bentley" premium audio system, while two sets of Bluetooth headphones and a dedicated remote control allows comfortable enjoyment of the system.

Other additions include three new paint options, extending the Mulsanne palette, and new bespoke fitted luggage.

European premiere for new luxury leather goods

Bentley's new luxury capsule Handbag Collection also makes its European debut at Frankfurt. Unveiled at the prestigious Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in August, the new collection is a reflection of the essential values for which Bentley is renowned worldwide: an exquisite design aesthetic, highly skilled craftsmanship, attention to detail and dynamic performance. The Bentley Handbag Collection transfers the functional luxury of our cars into an accessory that women can cherish.

Available from October 2013, the Collection features two distinct models - The Barnato and The Continental - and both draw inspiration from styling elements from the Bentley model range. As with a road-going Bentley, extensive attention has been dedicated to the execution of the details; the metal furniture with the typical knurled signature finish enhances luxury and the sense of craftsmanship unique only to the world of jewelry, in true Bentley style. The Bentley stand will also feature examples of the new Bentley Home Collection, an exclusive collection of furniture and home ware developed in conjunction with renowned furnishing brand Club House Italia. The state-of-the-art collection combines traditional elements in contemporary contexts combined with Bentley's legendary style and exquisite craftsmanship to enhance today's residential, commercial and executive office interiors. The partnership will offer rare pieces using the finest materials and finished of wood, leather, steel and glass.

NEW S MODELS SHARPEN THE SPORTING EDGE OF THE CONTINENTAL GT RANGE

(Crewe, 3 September 2013) The appeal of the world's most stylish, luxury grand tourer is enhanced with the introduction of the new, sporting Continental GT V8 S. Available as both a coupe and convertible, the new GT V8 S models bring added excitement to the Continental range with lowered and retuned sports suspension, sharper steering, dramatic S signature styling cues and a distinctive soundtrack from the uprated V8 engine.

These two new models expand the Continental family and provide an even more engaging driving experience from Bentley's already renowned 4-litre twin-turbo V8 powertrain. The new Continental GT V8 S Coupe and Convertible will be unveiled at the Frankfurt Show on 10th September, 2013.

Commenting on the introduction of the two new S models, Dr Wolfgang Schreiber, Chairman and Chief Executive, Bentley Motors, said:

"The Bentley Continental is the definitive grand tourer. Its effortless performance, generous space, handcrafted luxury and all-wheel drive capability take you on a journey in refined style and comfort. Now, for those customers who want even more drama and excitement, the sharper, sporting edge of the new GT V8 S adds a new dimension to the Continental range."

More power, more performance, and a range of 500 miles on a single tank

Building on the success of the acclaimed Continental GT V8, the new GT V8 S models feature a more powerful version of Bentley's high-efficiency 4-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine developing 521 bhp (528 PS / 389 KW) at 6,000 rev/min and an immense peak torque of 680 Nm (502 lb.ft) at a mere 1,700 rev/min.

Delivered via a close-ratio ZF 8-speed automatic transmission, the increased power provides effortless, exhilarating high performance with breath-taking acceleration and imperceptibly smooth power delivery. Switch into S mode via the gear selector and the V8 S rewards the spirited driver with a sharpened throttle response while gears are held for longer with faster shifts.

The GT V8 S coupe dispatches the 0-60 mph sprint in just 4.3 seconds (0-100 km/h in 4.5s) onto a top speed of 192 mph (309 km/h). The performance of the GT V8 S convertible is equally impressive, reaching 60 mph from a standing start in 4.5 seconds (0-100km/h in 4.7s) and a top speed of 191mph (308km/h).

The increased performance is achieved without detriment to the V8 engine's class-leading fuel economy and CO2 emissions, or its ability to cover more than 500 miles (805 km) between fill-ups.

The new GT V8 S coupe returns a combined cycle fuel economy of 26.8 mpg (10.6 l/100km) and CO2 emissions of 246 g/km. The equivalent figures for the convertible are 25.9 mpg (10.9 l/100km) and 254 g/km.

This impressive combination of power, performance and economy is the result of an array of advanced technologies employed in the design of the Bentley V8 engine. Variable displacement, in which four of the eight cylinders shut down when cruising, reduces fuel consumption without any loss of refinement. When more power is required, the engine switches back automatically and seamlessly to the full eight cylinders.

The high-technology V8 engine also features high pressure direct injection, low friction bearings, advanced thermal management, energy recuperation via the electrical charging system and innovative turbocharger packaging for greater efficiency.

The V8 engine's variable displacement system presented a unique challenge for Bentley exhaust engineers. When cruising on a light throttle in 4-cylinder mode, the exhaust system is tuned for refinement while maintaining a distinctive V8 sound. However, under acceleration the character of the system changes dramatically as the twin turbo-charged Bentley V8 transforms into an emotive growl.

A more agile, responsive and involving driving experience

The power and performance of the GT V8 S models are complemented by a range of chassis enhancements which deliver greater agility and a more involving driving experience without compromising the Continental's legendary ride comfort.

The GT V8 S retains the aluminium double-wishbone front and trapezoidal multi-link rear self-levelling air suspension with continuous damping control that is common to all Continental models. For the GT V8 S, there is a more sporting setup with subtly different tunes for Coupe and Convertible. Lowered sports suspension (by 10 mm) is complemented by increased spring rates (45% front, 33% rear) and revised damping for a more engaging and responsive drive. Bush stiffnesses are increased by up to 70%, while the rear anti-roll bar is stiffened by 54% over the standard GT V8 models for improved body control and turn-in. A recalibrated steering system completes the new chassis system, offering both improved precision and feedback through changes to static toe and camber and new software.

Careful recalibration of the Continuous Damping Control (CDC) system ensures minimal degradation in ride comfort despite the gains in handling performance.

The Electronic Stability Control is also optimised for the GT V8 S. The retuned system allows increased wheel slip at higher speeds with engine torque reinstated more quickly after a system intervention. This provides the spirited driver more opportunity to exploit the full potential of the uprated chassis and increased power.

The Lower Body Styling Specification - front splitter, side sills and rear diffuser - benefit aerodynamics by reducing front-end lift and provide greater stability at higher road speeds.

Shared with all Continental models, the all-wheel drive system employs an advanced Torsen differential and a 40:60 rear-biased power split. This ensures the delivery of safe yet dynamic handling in all road conditions.

Distinctive sporting design cues

While the elegant coachwork of the Continental GT is inspired by iconic Bentleys of the past, its modern, sculpted design, with crisp, highly defined feature lines, is formed using advanced body construction techniques, achieving class-leading standards of quality and body integrity.

For the new S models, the design of the Continental takes a more dramatic direction and its enhanced road presence is clear before a wheel is turned. The lowered suspension provides a more sleek and purposeful stance, complemented by unique, lower-body styling including a sharp front splitter, discrete side sills and subtle rear diffuser finished in Beluga gloss. The black gloss radiator grille with single chrome divider bar and "figure of eight" exhaust tail pipes instantly signify the powerful V8 engine.

The signature 20-inch wheels are unique to the S models with an open-spoke design that reveals distinctive, red-painted brake calipers. Subtle "V8 S" badges are applied to each front fender, and as with the other members of the Continental V8 family, the famous Bentley Wings badges feature a red centre.

In common with the Continental GT W12, the GT V8 S models are available in the full palette of 17 paint colours, of which seven vibrant hues are specifically recommended by Bentley Design to match the sporting character of the new model. Of these, two shades (Kingfisher Blue and the new Monaco Yellow) are signature colours for the GT V8 S.

Hand-crafted contemporary luxury

The cabin of the Continental GT is renowned for its supreme luxury with soft-touch leathers, wood veneers, polished metals and deep-pile carpeting, hand-crafted in Bentley's unrivalled workshops at the factory in Crewe, England.

The cabin of the S models presents a thoroughly modern interpretation of Bentley luxury in which colour and tone offer further appeal to the senses.

Available with a range of striking duo-tone interiors, customers may also select from the full range of seventeen hide colours. The GT V8 S coupe also features a unique contrast centre-stripe for the hide-trimmed roof lining, matched to the colour of the main hide. Contrast stitching throughout, including to the steering wheel, is also available as an option.

Knurled chrome detailing to the gearshift lever and ventilation controls provide a perfect contrast to the Piano Black veneers which are sanded and lacquered up to 18 times to produce a truly flawless finish. Discreet "V8 S" badges are displayed on each sill tread plate.

As with all Continental models, the S models include advanced infotainment technology as standard, including an 8-inch touchscreen which displays the car's navigation, audio and telephone systems as well as the ride and comfort settings for the air suspension, all complemented by a 30GB on-board hard drive.

Tailoring the specification

Customers may tailor the specification of the GT V8 S by selecting from a range of optional equipment.

The sports exhaust option features redesigned silencers, revised pipe architecture and re-tuned mountings which result in a free-breathing system that delivers a full-blooded V8 sound track.

The optional Mulliner Driving Specification features 21-inch 7-spoke Black Edition wheels, drilled alloy foot pedals, a "jewel" filler cap and a cabin trimmed in diamond-quilted, perforated leather with indented headlining. Other key options include Mulliner dark - tint front and rear lights and Beluga gloss door mirrors to match the Lower Body Styling Specification.

Deliveries of the new Continental V8 S start in early 2014.

CONTINENTAL GT3 HEADLINES BENTLEY'S LARGEST EVER PRESENCE AT GOODWOOD FESTIVAL OF SPEED

(Crewe, 3rd July 2013)Bentley's new Continental GT3 race car is to spearhead the famous British marque's presence at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed, taking place from 12th-14th July in Sussex, England. With a busy schedule of development work ahead of it before marking Bentley's return to the racetrack later this year, the new Continental GT3 makes its global debut in front of the crowds at Goodwood on Friday 12th July. Demonstrating the performance potential that lies embedded in the DNA of every Continental GT, the GT3 is the most extreme form of the iconic Grand Tourer ever.

The GT3 will be joined at Goodwood by two road-going members of its Continental family. Four-time World Rally Champion Juha Kankkunen will drive the breath-taking Continental GT Speed coupe up the famous Goodwood hill-climb over all three days of the Festival. With a top speed of 205 mph (330 km/h), the GT Speed is the fastest production Bentley ever. Its 6.0-litre, twin-turbo W12 engine delivers equally stunning acceleration: 0-60 mph in 4.0 secs (0-100 km/h in 4.2 secs).

Five-time Le Mans winner Derek Bell MBE once again dons the Bentley overalls for the event, this year piloting the fastest four-seat convertible in the world - the 202 mph (325 km/h) GT Speed Convertible. With a more dynamic chassis setup, increased power and torque and a host of subtle yet distinctive styling cues, the GT Speed Convertible is the pinnacle of the Continental range. Derek comments: "Coming back to Goodwood with Bentley is always a real honour, and this year I have the pleasure of driving a 616 bhp convertible up the infamous hill. 2013 is certain to be a great year for us at the Festival."

Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the famous Bentley 1-2 finish at Le Mans in 2003, the Speed 8 racers that will appear are the very same that crossed the finish line first and second ten years ago. They will be piloted up the hill in formation by the same pair of drivers - Guy Smith in Number 7, and David Brabham in Number 8. This evocative display commemorates the last British victory at Le Mans, where the cars covered 3,196 miles (5,146 km) over the course of the event, recording an average speed of 133 mph (214 km/h).

Away from the track action, the new Bentley show stand displays the full current range of Bentley vehicles, including the new Flying Spur. Powered by the iconic W12 engine, and with a cabin over 40% quieter than the previous model, the new Flying Spur is the perfect combination of spectacular performance and exemplary refinement.

The Continental GT3 will be unveiled on the media stage in the F1 paddock at 10:15 on Friday 12th July, at which point more information about the car will be released

BENTLEY CONTINENTAL GT3 PROJECT POWERS AHEAD

(Crewe, 12th June 2013)Since the world debut of Bentley's GT3 Concept Racer at the Paris Auto Salon in September 2012, a dedicated team of Bentley engineers has been developing the Continental GT3 in preparation for Bentley's highly anticipated return to the track. Building on a rich racing heritage spanning ninety years, the new Continental GT3 is set to explore the extreme potential of Bentley's iconic Grand Tourer and exploit the performance DNA contained within every Bentley.

With expert guidance and cooperation from Bentley's GT3 technical partner, M-Sport Ltd1, the race-ready version of the Continental has been taking shape over the last six months. Leading the project is Brian Gush, Bentley's Director of Motorsport, who took the company to victory at Le Mans in 2003. He comments: "Motorsport is an integral part of Bentley, and the performance and endurance qualities of all of our road cars reflect this racing heritage. Not one single part of the GT3 has escaped our attention, and the result is a car that can compete with the field in terms of factors such as power, weight and aerodynamics."

Powered by a race-configured version of Bentley's highly efficient 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, the GT3 puts its power to the road via a six-speed sequential racing gearbox. Double wishbone suspension, four-way adjustable dampers and competition brakes make up the chassis system, while more than 1000 kg of weight has been saved over the Continental GT road car by removing the equipment and parts that make the road car such a luxurious and refined Grand Tourer such as double glazing, over fifty ECUs and extensive electrical systems. The exquisitely trimmed Continental GT doors have been replaced by race versions, weighing just 12% of the originals.

The iconic silhouette of the road car is retained as the main body shell is almost a direct carryover, while doors, boot lid and bonnet are now hand-crafted in carbon fibre. The bodyshell itself benefits from a comprehensive FIA-specification roll cage, more than doubling its stiffness. Meanwhile, the carbon fibre racing seat has been trimmed by the craftsmen and women of the Crewe factory, who have also meticulously stitched the racing steering wheel and door pulls, just as they would on a Continental GT road car.

The Continental GT3 will soon be ready to begin a test programme ahead of its race debut. More details and specification of the Continental GT3 will be released soon.

ICONIC BLOWER BENTLEYS PRIMED FOR MILLE MIGLIA CHALLENGE

(Crewe, 14 May 2013).Bentley Motors will compete in this year's Mille Miglia with two unique 4 ½ litre Supercharged "Blowers"; a 1930 Le Mans race car belonging to perhaps the most famous and daring of the Bentley Boys and a company demonstrator that is still going strong even after nine decades on the road.

The No. 2 Team Car - raced at Le Mans by Captain Tim Birkin - was brought by Bentley Motors in 2000 and has been regularly campaigned across the world by the company ever since. Richard Charlesworth, Bentley's Director of Royal and VIP Relations, who has helped prepare the car for its third Mille Miglia challenge at Bentley's Crewe headquarters, explains:

"This is a fantastic car to drive and remains extremely rapid as well. We take great pride in making sure all the cars Bentley owns continue to regularly compete or run and are not museum exhibits, which is very much the Bentley way, and we are all looking forward to the unique Mille Miglia experience."

The car is perhaps best known for its epic duel with a 7 litre "Kompressor" Mercedes (also supercharged) at Le Mans in 1930 with Birkin putting his off-side wheels on the grass as he completed a typically daring pass of his Mercedes opponent Rudolf Caracciola at 120mph. The Blower immediately threw one of its rear tyre treads, but somehow Birkin carried on to set the fastest lap.

Sadly Birkin's campaign ended after 82 laps but the immense pressure he applied to the Mercedes is wildly credited with assisting his fellow Bentley Boys Woolf Barnato and Glenn Kidston to win the race in their Bentley Speed Six.

The second Bentley Blower to take-on Mille Miglia was completed in 1930 and is fitted with a beautiful Vanden Plas Open, Sports Four Seater body. It was owned by Bentley Motors as a customer demonstrator car before passing into private ownership. An early review praised it as "a car with the strongest possible individuality and it is certain that it is immensely likeable no matter what angle one may regard it".

Repurchased by Bentley Motors in 1997, the car continues to turn heads at Bentley customer events across the world and is still faithfully fulfilling demonstration rides well into its ninth decade.

"There are currently over 100,000 miles on this elegant Blower Bentley but we're certain it has completed many more than this," comments Richard Charlesworth.

"However, everyone at Bentley is confident the car will run for many, many years to come and will complete the 1,000 mile round-trip to and from Brescia."

BENTLEY CUTS A DASH WITH PANKHURST

(Crewe, 2nd May 2013).Bentley is delighted to announce the launch of its new collaboration with the luxury men's lifestyle brand Pankhurst, at the opening of the new Pankhurst men's grooming store in London.

Bentley craftsmen based at the company's renowned Crewe headquarters have renovated six barbers' chairs, utilising the craftsmanship and engineering techniques of the illustrious marque and incorporating materials and finishes from Bentley cars.

Pankhurst London offers classic haircuts with a modern twist, drawing inspiration from timeless styles, then updating each look with a unique and inspirational edge. Both Bentley and Pankhurst share a commitment to peerless quality, contemporary style and modern luxury which combine to make the partnership one of true excellence.

Stefan Buescher, director of marketing¸ Bentley Motors, commented: "Bentley is widely recognised as one of the world's most desirable and authentic luxury brands. A key part of what makes Bentley special is our hand-crafted expertise in wood and leather that makes our car interiors a special place to be."

"Working with Pankhurst has given us the opportunity to show this craft in an innovative and exciting way to create a unique experience in London's finest barber shop. Only Bentley could make such exquisite and beautiful chairs."

The project combines Bentley's skills in both leather trim expertise and the Mulliner special commissioning department. Eight hides were used in the development and production of Bentley's unique chair covers, while bespoke Bentley and Pankhurst embroidery was created to embellish the luxury specification of the chairs.

The chairs' arms were refabricated by grafting new wood onto the structure to replace the redundant ashtrays, and the suspension system within the chairs was reworked to improve the level of comfort. Hand-sculptured new headrest foams were also produced in an improved density material to further enhance the sense of wellbeing. Finally, colour combinations were chosen by the Bentley colour and trim team in conjunction with Pankhurst. Fire Glow and Burnt Oak, standard colours across the Bentley product range, were used for five chairs, with stitching and piping in Linen, the stitch pattern on the Fire Glow seats being based on the Continental GT range. The stitch pattern on the Burnt Oak seat was based on the Mulliner specification.

Brent Pankhurst, owner of Pankhurst, added: "The beautiful barbers' chairs Bentley has created for Pankhurst London highlight both brands' commitment to bespoke style and luxury, helping create a haven of masculinity in our new flagship home on Newburgh Street, London W1."

"Sumptuous, stunning and elegant, our Bentley crafted chairs are the perfect place to sit back as we ensure you'll never leave with a hair out of place."

(Shanghai, 19 April 2013)Today at the Auto Shanghai 2013, Bentley introduces the new Flying Spur to Greater China, alongside the Continental GT Speed, Bentley's fastest production model ever and its pinnacle flagship model, the ultra-high luxury Mulsanne. Bentley also announces its plans to grow the dealer network in Greater China, reinforcing China as a key market for Bentley's continued success as the company heads for double digit growth again in 2013.

Dr Wolfgang Schreiber, Bentley's Chairman and Chief Executive, comments:

"China is a key market for Bentley and we are enjoying great sales success and growing customer interest. To continue to achieve these results, we have a significant expansion plan in place. This starts with the new Flying Spur, previously our best-selling model and we expect 60 per cent of the new Flying Spur sales to be delivered to customers in China."

"Our customers have one thing in common; they want quality, attention to detail and performance whether this is a watch or a bespoke suit. Exactly these principles are at the heart of the new car being presenting today, for its Greater China premiere."

Success in the Far East

Reinforcing Bentley's position as the number one luxury car maker in the world, 2012 saw a 23 per cent sales growth in China, with the region becoming Bentley's second biggest market. Bentley established an official importer at the start of 2013, Bentley Motors China, to manage all key operations from its headquarters in Beijing. The company's growth plan includes major network expansion to build on the current 26 locations and continue to provide every Bentley customer with a first-class service. 12 new dealer locations are opening by May this year, with plans for 45 dealerships covering all key cities in Greater China to be in place by 2015.

Establishing a new luxury sedan benchmark

With its unrivalled blend of effortless driveability, exquisite luxury and craftsmanship, sculpted design and state-of-the-art technology, the new Flying Spur, shown in the Far East for the first time, takes the worldwide success of its iconic predecessor even further.

Bentley's styling team has developed an athletic design for the new Flying Spur that combines traditional Bentley styling cues with a dynamic stance and contemporary details. Sharp feature lines complement muscular rear haunches, while LED day-time running lights, dipped headlights and taillights complement the front and rear profiles. The interior designers have created a luxurious, spacious cabin that dresses advanced acoustic and electronic technologies in exquisite hand-crafted leather hides and wood veneers.

Driver and passengers alike interface with the car and the outside world through touch-screen infotainment, mobile connectivity including Wi-Fi, a Rear Seat Entertainment suite and a new bespoke hand-held Touch Screen Remote which allows rear-cabin occupants to control an extensive range of features from the comfort of their seat. An eight-channel, eight-speaker audio system with Balanced Mode Radiators provide high quality sound clarity, with the 1100W Naim® for Bentley premium system available as an option.

Powering the new Flying Spur is Bentley's renowned 6.0-litre, twin turbo W12 engine, coupled to a ZF eight-speed transmission. Developing 616 horsepower and 590 pound feet of torque, the new Flying Spur features more power than any other Bentley four-door in history. A 14 per cent improvement in the power-to-weight ratio over the outgoing model delivers a breath-taking 0-60 mph time of 4.3 seconds and a top-speed of 200 mph. In the modern Bentley tradition, power is delivered to the road via all-wheel drive with a 40:60 rear-biased torque split for a sure-footed, engaging drive in all road and weather conditions.

BENTLEY CONTINENTAL GT RECEIVES MOTOR KLASSIK AWARD 2013

Crewe/Jüchen, 12 April 2013)For the second year in a row Bentley's Continental GT was selected "Classic Car of the Future" in the Coupe Category by readers of the prestigious Motor Klassik magazine, a publication of Motor Presse Stuttgart.

More than 22,000 participants voted in both the print and online editions of the magazine, choosing from 60 cars in six "classic car" categories and from 54 cars in 9 "classic cars of the future" categories.

Throughout Bentley's history, iconic grand tourers have forged the brand's reputation. In the 1900s the beautiful R-Type Continental set new standards of performance and style. Today the Continental GT range consists of the Continental V8, the Continental W12 and the recently launched performance flagship Continental GT Speed, available as both Coupe and Convertible.

Remarking on the Motor Klassik award, Dr Wolfgang Schreiber, CEO of Bentley Motors, said: "Bentley's heritage is a cornerstone of our brand. For decades our cars have defined ultimate luxury and high performance grand touring. It is our goal to continue to build the best luxury cars in the world. We are honored that the readers recognize the Continental GT as a future classic and we thank them for this prestigious award."

  • Stylish new Flying Spur makes North American debut
  • Flagship Mulsanne shows off luxurious 2014 model year enhancements
  • New models and double-digit growth pave way for continued sales momentum in the Americas

(New York, 27 March 2013)The new Bentley Flying Spur, the world's most refined performance sedan, makes its North American debut at the New York International Auto Show today.

"We're excited to show the new Flying Spur in one of Bentley's most important markets in the world - New York," said Christophe Georges, President and COO, Bentley Motors, Inc.

"The Flying Spur meets the desires of our customers perfectly and is a car only Bentley could make timeless design inside and out, ultimate material quality, attention to detail, class leading refinement, and effortless performance."

Establishing a new luxury sedan benchmark

With its unrivalled blend of effortless driveability, exquisite luxury and craftsmanship, sculpted design and state-of-the-art technology, the new Flying Spur takes the worldwide success of its iconic predecessor further.

Bentley's styling team has developed an athletic design for the new Flying Spur that combines traditional Bentley styling cues with a sporting stance and contemporary details.

The new Flying Spur has a base MSRP of $200,500. Commissioning is available now with arrivals to begin during the second quarter.

Bentley Mulsanne: the pinnacle of British luxury motoring

Bentley's showcase of luxury, performance and technology continues with the North American debut of an enhanced specification for the flagship Mulsanne sedan. A range of new luxury features have been added to the Mulsanne and are on display for the first time in North America, offering a new suite of entertainment and communication system options.

An Entertainment Specification incorporates the latest in technological developments, with picnic tables designed for an iPad and wireless keyboard and the cabin of the Mulsanne becoming a Wi-Fi Hotspot.

A new Comfort Specification, including comfort headrests, footrests and duck down filled loose cushions has been introduced to reaffirm Mulsanne's reputation as a truly bespoke grand tourer.

Additional enhancements include privacy curtains, which promise to broaden the experience for the Mulsanne rear cabin occupants, allowing them to maximise work or rest as they travel.

Other additions include three new paint options, extending the Mulsanne palette, and new bespoke fitted luggage.

Building on the Momentum of Success

The introduction of the new Flying Spur comes on the heels of a successful 2012 in which US sales were up 23% to 2,315 cars. Globally, the company achieved growth of 22% with 8,510 cars delivered to customers. The United States remains the number one market for Bentley worldwide and the region expects to continue to achieve double digit growth in 2013.

In 2013, the new Flying Spur and enhanced Mulsanne will be joined by the all-new Continental GT Speed Convertible, creating the strongest Bentley model line-up ever.

BENTLEY'S SPEED MACHINES PRIMED FOR GOODWOOD'S FAMOUS HILL

(Crewe/Goodwood, 20 March 2013)Bentley will unleash some of its fastest and most powerful cars at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed in July. The flying Bentleys include the 616 bhp (625 PS) and 202 mph (325 km/h) Continental GT Speed Convertible (the world's fastest four seat convertible) and two of Bentley's 2003 Le Mans-winning Speed 8 race cars.

Instantly recognisable with their iconic British Racing Green livery, cars No. 7 and No. 8 secured a famous first and second at Le Mans, and are set to make a special reunion ten years on at Goodwood. Brian Gush, Bentley's Director of Motorsport, said:

"Goodwood's atmosphere is unique and this summer we're bringing even more speed to the Festival. The 202 mph GT Speed Convertible is set to turn heads in the supercar paddock as will our Speed 8 Le Mans cars marking the tenth anniversary of Bentley's 2003 victory. It is also the ideal scene-setter for Bentley's return to top-level motor sport with a GT3 race car later this year."

Away from the famous hill, 2013 will see Bentley's biggest ever exhibition presence at Goodwood, including the opportunity to see the new Flying Spur; the fastest, most powerful luxury sedan in Bentley's history.

The Flying Spur combines a luxurious, spacious cabin that dresses advanced acoustic and electronic technologies in exquisite hand-crafted leather hides and wood veneers. Power comes from Bentley's renowned 6.0-litre, twin turbo W12 engine. Developing 800 Nm of torque, the new Flying Spur features more power than any other Bentley four-door in history. A 14 per cent improvement in the power-to-weight ratio over its predecessor delivers a breath-taking 0-60 mph time of 4.3 seconds and a top-speed of 200 mph (322 km/h). In the modern Bentley tradition, power is delivered to the road via all-wheel drive with a 40:60 rear-biased torque split for a sure-footed, engaging drive in all road and weather conditions.

Helping to set the scene for Bentley's summer of speed at today's preview event were Derek Bell and Guy Smith who drove the 205 mph Continental GT Speed coupe and the Speed 8. Both champion-drivers were in typically quick form and Smith, Le Mans winner for Bentley in 2003, commented:

"It is always great to drive the Bentley Speed 8 and I am genuinely looking forward to driving the Le Mans cars this summer and seeing the GT Speed Convertible set some good times on the hill. It will be a special Goodwood for Bentley enthusiasts."
