Key models in the Bentley range have received comprehensive designs and builds from the Mulliner team. The Bentley Continental GT Mulliner is a genuine work of art, and if it weren’t for the existence of the Bentley Continental GT Convertible Mulliner, it would be unrivaled in its pursuit of the ultimate touring experience.
The Bentley Flying Spur Mulliner is even more focused on performance. It can be optioned with the same V8 and W12 engines that are available for the GT and GTC, but unlike these latter two models, the Flying Spur Mulliner is also available as a hybrid.
If you can dream it, Bentley Mulliner can bring it to life—and there’s nothing in the world quite like a Bentley Mulliner interior. Whether you’re hoping to equip your vehicle with a paint-matched carbon fiber bodykit, sumptuous deep pile floor mats, or rare and luxurious fabrics and materials, all you need to do is ask. If you’d like to get a deeper understanding of the features and options offered by Mulliner, then reach out to our team today.
The Mulliner Coachbuilt team creates entirely unique, handcrafted, and utterly iconic vehicles—that only occasionally blossom into limited edition production lineups. In most cases, the Mulliner Coachbuilt team goes to work for a single buyer with unmatched vision or prestige, who will settle for nothing less than true exclusivity. “Examples” don’t exactly apply when the end results are this unique, but curious readers will definitely want a closer look at 2020’s exquisite Bentley Mulliner Bacalar.
Working with the world’s oldest surviving coachbuilder has other advantages: no manufacturer is in a better position to disassemble, investigate, and recreate the classic vehicles of decades past. Working with original blueprints, and in fidelity to the techniques that were used during the classic vehicle’s original production run, the Mulliner team has resurrected some of the 20th century’s most important designs. Wherever new parts are required, CAD design and additive manufacturing are employed to incredible effect.
The origins of the Mulliner family have been traced all the way back to 1559—and it’s not unlikely that they were creating saddles and carriers more than 500 years ago. In 1760, the Mulliner name became well known after they were commissioned to build and maintain carriages for the Royal Mail.
Robert Bouverie Mulliner would found the Mulliner London Limited coachbuilding company in 1870. They immediately started to build personalized carriages for the world’s first factory cars—which generally left the floor as little more than an engine mounted on a chassis.
By the time of the 1923 Olympia Show in London, Mulliner’s partnership with Bently had begun. During that decade, they would build original coaches for more than 240 Bentley vehicles. They worked together to build the first Bentley Continental in 1952, and again to build the first Bentley Flying Spur in 1957. The rest, as they say, is history.
